CHARLOTTESVILLE LAUNDRY TERMS OF USE
Effective Date: September 21, 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the website, online ordering system, and laundry services offered by Charlottesville Laundry. By accessing our website, creating an account, scheduling a pickup, or using our services, you agree to these Terms.
1. Our Services
Charlottesville Laundry provides residential and commercial laundry services, including wash, dry and fold service with pickup and delivery.
Our shop is not open to the public and we do not operate a customer drop-off facility. Laundry is collected and returned through our pickup and delivery service.
Service availability may vary based on location, scheduling capacity, order size, and the type of items being cleaned.
2. Customer Accounts and Online Ordering
Customers are required to create an account to schedule service. You agree to provide accurate and current information and are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
You are responsible for all orders placed through your account.
Available pickup dates are displayed through our online scheduling system. Pickup availability is limited and dates may become unavailable once our service capacity has been reached.
3. Pickup and Delivery
Customers are responsible for placing laundry in an appropriate bag and leaving it in the designated pickup location.
Please do not leave laundry in hampers, baskets, containers, or other items that you expect us to transport unless specifically approved by Charlottesville Laundry.
Customers generally do not need to be present for pickup or delivery when laundry can be safely left in the designated location.
Pickup and delivery times may vary due to order volume, traffic, weather, equipment issues, holidays, or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
4. Recurring Service
Customers may establish recurring service when available.
Recurring service does not create a long-term contract. Customers may skip or pause service according to the options available through their account or pickup reminder.
Recurring pricing and service availability are subject to change.
5. Pricing and Minimum Orders
Current pricing is displayed on our website or within our online ordering system.
Pickup and delivery orders are subject to the applicable minimum order charge for the customer's service area.
Laundry charged by weight is billed based on the final clean and dry weight of the laundry.
Certain items may be individually priced rather than charged by the pound. Additional charges may apply for special handling, excessive pet hair, air drying, additional processing, fuel surcharges, or other services disclosed at the time of service.
Commercial laundry pricing may be established separately based on laundry volume, service frequency, processing requirements, and other factors.
6. Payment
A valid payment method is required to schedule service.
Customers authorize Charlottesville Laundry and its payment-processing providers to charge the payment method associated with the customer's account for completed services and applicable fees.
Charges may include laundry service, individually priced items, minimum order charges, applicable surcharges, taxes, and other charges disclosed in connection with the order.
If you believe there is an error with a charge, please contact us promptly so we can review the account.
7. Cancellations and Missed Pickups
Customers should cancel or modify scheduled pickups as early as possible.
A cancellation, missed-pickup, or other service fee may apply when disclosed as part of our current service policies.
When a scheduled pickup is canceled, the date may become available for another customer to schedule.
8. Laundry Instructions and Special Requests
Customers may provide laundry preferences or special instructions through their account or order.
We will make reasonable efforts to follow customer instructions; however, we cannot guarantee that every request can be accommodated.
Items requiring special handling should be clearly identified before service.
Customers are responsible for reviewing manufacturer care labels and determining whether an item is suitable for commercial laundering.
9. Items We Cannot Process
Charlottesville Laundry does not accept soiled, biohazardous, contaminated, regulated medical, or other laundry that may create a health or safety risk to our employees, equipment, customers, or facility.
We reserve the right to refuse any item or order that we reasonably determine cannot be safely or appropriately processed.
Customers must disclose known contamination or hazardous conditions before providing laundry for service.
10. Special and Individually Priced Items
Certain items—including comforters, blankets, quilts, duvet covers, pillows, sleeping bags, and washable rugs—may be individually priced.
Only machine-washable rugs that can be safely processed in our commercial equipment will be accepted. Rubber-backed rugs may require air drying.
We reserve the right to decline oversized, deteriorated, damaged, unsafe, or otherwise unsuitable items.
11. Garment and Item Care
Charlottesville Laundry uses reasonable care when processing customer laundry.
Normal laundering may reveal or worsen pre-existing conditions including weak fabric, loose seams, damaged zippers, fading, shrinkage, stains, worn elastic, deteriorating backing, manufacturer defects, or damage that was not visible before cleaning.
We cannot guarantee removal of every stain, odor, or discoloration.
Customers should remove all items from pockets before pickup. Charlottesville Laundry is not responsible for objects left in pockets or for damage caused by those objects to the customer's laundry.
12. Lost or Damaged Items
Customers should notify Charlottesville Laundry promptly if they believe an item has been lost or damaged during our service.
Claims will be reviewed based on the circumstances of the order and our applicable claims policy.
We may request information reasonably necessary to investigate a claim, including a description of the item, photographs, purchase information, or other documentation.
Any compensation for an approved claim will be subject to our applicable service and claims policies and applicable law.
13. Commercial Laundry Service
Commercial service is provided according to the requirements established between Charlottesville Laundry and the business customer.
Pricing, service frequency, pickup arrangements, processing instructions, minimums, and other requirements may differ from residential service.
Unless a separate written agreement provides otherwise, these Terms also apply to commercial customers.
14. Promotions and Discount Codes
Promotions and discount codes may be subject to eligibility requirements, expiration dates, service-area restrictions, minimum purchases, or other conditions.
Unless otherwise stated, promotions cannot be combined with other offers and have no cash value.
Charlottesville Laundry reserves the right to modify or discontinue promotional offers as permitted by law.
15. Website and Acceptable Use
You may use our website and online services only for lawful purposes related to obtaining information about or purchasing our services.
You may not attempt to interfere with the website, gain unauthorized access to customer accounts or systems, introduce malicious software, misuse customer information, or use automated systems in a manner that disrupts our services.
16. Third-Party Services
Our website and ordering system may use or link to third-party services, including payment processors, scheduling platforms, mapping services, and social media platforms.
Those services may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
Charlottesville Laundry is not responsible for third-party websites or services that we do not own or control.
17. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise indicated, the Charlottesville Laundry name, branding, website content, graphics, photographs, text, and other original materials are owned by or licensed to Charlottesville Laundry.
Content may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, or commercially exploited without authorization except as permitted by law.
18. Service Availability
We may modify, suspend, limit, or discontinue services when reasonably necessary due to weather, staffing, equipment problems, service capacity, safety concerns, holidays, emergencies, or other operational circumstances.
We may also refuse or discontinue service when a customer violates these Terms, creates an unsafe condition, fails to pay amounts due, or misuses our employees, property, website, or services.
19. Disclaimer
Laundry services involve inherent risks associated with cleaning textiles and customer-owned property.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, services are provided without warranties beyond those expressly stated in these Terms or required by law.
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.
20. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Charlottesville Laundry will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential damages arising from the use of our website or services.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is prohibited by applicable law.
21. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, customers agree to indemnify and hold Charlottesville Laundry harmless from claims, damages, or expenses arising from the customer's unlawful use of our website or services, violation of these Terms, or failure to disclose hazardous or prohibited materials provided for laundering.
22. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy.
By using our website or services, you acknowledge that information necessary to schedule, process, communicate about, and complete your order may be collected and processed.
23. Changes to These Terms
Charlottesville Laundry may update these Terms periodically to reflect changes in our services, policies, technology, or applicable requirements.
The current version will be posted on our website with its effective date. Continued use of our services after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.
24. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
